Activity Attributes
Activity attributes are additional details associated with each schedule activity that extend the description beyond what is in the activity list.
Explanation
Activity attributes expand on the information in the activity list by providing detailed characteristics for each activity. Early in the project, attributes may include only the activity identifier, WBS ID, and activity label. As the project progresses through planning, additional attributes are added such as predecessor and successor activities, logical relationships, leads and lags, resource requirements, imposed dates, constraints, and assumptions.
These attributes are essential inputs to the Sequence Activities and Estimate Activity Durations processes. For example, predecessor and successor information drives the creation of the project schedule network diagram, while resource requirements feed into resource planning and duration estimation. Activity attributes also support schedule reporting and sorting, allowing the team to filter and group activities by various criteria.
